Stuntman, actor, grip, stylist, production designer, producer in theatre, television, film, and print...when you take a look at Floyd's career, it becomes crystal clear that he's worked in just about every nook and cranny that the industry has to offer.
Indeed, he's been a dab hand at all of it, reaching a zenith in each field before moving on to the next. In his wake, Floyd leaves a trail of star-studded names, Caleb Deshanel, Joe Pytka, Annie Leibovitz, Richard Avedon, Peter Lindbergh, Patrick Demarchelier, Terry Richardson, Bruce Weber, Steven Klein, and Herb Ritts - to name a few.
Now that he's been there and done that, Floyd has turned his attention to what's been the reason for all the moving around and Floyd's unflinching drive to know the business inside and out, to what's always been waiting in the wings all along. Directing.
Not surprisingly, his debut short is the kind of calling card that can't be ignored. Called a "sign of a genius filmmaker" by Alexandra Kotur of Vogue, 'United We Stand' won Best Picture in Cannes' Short Corner Market and is currently blazing a trail on the festival circuit. With an eye for the minutiae that make a scene ring true and a profound understanding of the human condition, Floyd brings his uncanny ability to weave together the subtleties of character and emotion to the screen.
Currently he's working on his next feature project. Nudging the audience to look a little deeper than they might otherwise be inclined, with Floyd at the reins you can guarantee it's going to be one of those rare films that infiltrates the ether, staying around for a long, long time.
